Roller coating machine coating process points


(1) Coating viscosity adjustment

   The viscosity of the coating used in the roll coater has a great influence on the uniformity of the coating film and the thickness of the coating film. When the viscosity of the coating is small, the wettability to the roller is large, and the coating on the surface of the coated object is relatively uniform, but there may be a problem that the coating amount is insufficient and the coating is thin; when the viscosity of the coating is large, contrary to the above, the coating may be biased. Thickness and uniformity are not good. Experience has shown that the roll coating method has a viscosity of between 40 and 150 s (coating - 4 cups) of paint.

(2) Coating thickness control

   The easy control of the coating film thickness is a major advantage of the roll coating method. In addition to adjusting the viscosity of the coating to control the thickness, it can also be achieved by adjusting the speed of the paint roller or the distance of the paint roller at the object to be coated. For the co-roller coating machine, the paint roller rotates fast, the coating film is thin, and the rotation speed is slow. When the distance between the paint roller and the object to be coated is large, the coating film is thick, and vice versa. For the reverse roll coating method, the adjustment is slightly more complicated, and the pressure and rotation ratio of the feed roller between the paint rollers affect the film thickness.
